Herman Miller introduces Ratio, the latest in sit-stand desking

Herman Miller’s long commitment to studying how people work has resulted in many world firsts in helping people feel and work better – from the pioneering Action Office to the ground-breaking Aeron chair.

This record of innovative design continues with the addition of Ratio to the Herman Miller furniture portfolio. Ratio, a new height-adjustable desk, makes moving from sitting to standing, and back again, a natural part of a person’s day, and encourages people to be more active and healthy while at work.

With its clean lines and lightweight design, Ratio has been designed to blend into the modern office environment. It can be single or back-to-back desks in unlimited clusters. It is available with two kinds of electric height adjustment including programmable pre-sets for use at assigned desks; a user can adjust their desk to exactly the right height for them at the touch of a button.

Senior Ergonomist at Herman Miller, Lillian Antonio says: “Research has shown us that the average worker spends between three and eight hours a day at their desk, and a sedentary lifestyle can increase our risk of diabetes, obesity, heart disease and some kinds of cancer. Height-adjustable desks support moving from one posture to another throughout the day, which we know is beneficial to our health.”
